Boat or Hike Friendly at Constable Bridge
This is the log I submitted for the Boat or Hike Friendly at Constable Bridge cache, which I DNFd 29 November 2002.
Well, I did not have a very successful day today. After finding 5 Little Bridges, I headed over to find Constable Bridge. I was unlucky in that endeavor. For some reason, I went and found Pink Surprise next. I totally spaced out on this one.
So, it was a long journey back to this one. I was tired. My tiredness soon left me as it was relaced by frustration.
I got to within 200 feet of this one, but no closer. Constable Bridge is in for repairs. There is no way across the Mullica along this trail. I searched for a long time, but came up empty.
Back at the visitors’ center, I was informed that about two weeks ago the bridge was disassembled for maintenance. They have no idea when it will back in service.
The trail that leads to it is not a loop. I asked if there was another approach one could make to hit the other side. The lady did not know. For someone who is supposed to dispense information, she didn’t have much to share.
It looks like the Canoe caches are affected by this too. I suppose unless one is in a boat, getting to this one is going to be problematic for the unforeseeable future.
