NJ Does Not Support Corzine Run for the White House
Jon Corzine’s presidential hopes took a hit today as a Quinnipiac poll indicates 75% of New Jerseyans do not want Corzine to run for president.
74 – 12 percent that he should not run for President. Only 33 percent say he is qualified to be President.
If Corzine runs for President, only 26 percent say they “definitely” or “probably” will vote for him, with 61 percent who say they “probably” or “definitely” won’t.
I fully support Corzine if he would like to run for president. Of course, there’s a caveat: when one runs for president, he resigns his position.
Bob Dole resigned from the Senate in 1996. Corzine did no such thing when he ran for governor. As such, New Jersey was poorly represented as he sought a promotion.
