LUCUBRATION?

LCVF

I have been having fun going through many of the archived hunts I never logged. Who cares if they can’t be logged online? I have my own site. I can add the log to the database. The LTPS matter little.

So I came across this little puzzle from Shirley and John. Whenever I think of One of These Things Is Not Like the Other, I have flashbacks to the Mad Batter and Meryl doing an X-rated version of the song that just cracked me up.

I thought it was a fairly straightforward puzzle and then e-mailed my answers. They left TC.com in early February distraught with the abandonment of the site, yet were more than happy to confirm that I was wrong in my answer.

Perplexed I checked things over and re-adjusted my answer. Still wrong. Third time was the charm, I suppose.

This puzzle demonstrates some issues with puzzlemaking. If there is not one clear answer, then something needs to be provided or else it is a crap shoot. Each of my answers were sound, just not what had been decided on by the creators.

Anyhow, the target I am posting is of the Shoemaker Holly. It fits category #4.

Thanks for the fun!
