No Said

My father taught us there was always a better word to use than get or got. Those words were more descriptive and conveyed subtle differences from the pedantic.
Likewise, as a teacher, I have found the use of said to be trite and uninteresting. I impress upon my students to use other words than said when they write. This is the list they came up with this year.
