Steal the Bacon

There is not much recess time in our academic schedule these days. Today, the third day of the second marking period was the first time I took my class out this year. It was a gorgeous autumn day. My students have been working very diligently and the way some of our studies have wrapped up, it was convenient to spend a few minutes outside this afternoon.

Prior to going out, I taught my students how to play Steal the Bacon. Outside, we had a blast running around. After a bit we lined up. The gym teacher and another teacher were also outside during this time. They began busting on me. “What is that 1930’s game you guys were playing?” I was perplexed. They asked if we were going to play Kick the Can next. Grrr . . .

I asked my students if they enjoyed the game. A resounding yes echoed from our line. :P

Yes, I may be on the upper end of the age of the faculty, but good games are good games . . . regardless of the age.
